Ulster-Greene ARC was founded by local families in 1956. Today we offer a full range of services to people throughout the Catskill Mountain and Hudson Valley region with developmental disabilitities from birth through adulthood. Pilot Industries is the vocational division of Ulster-Greene ARC, providing training and employment opportunities to more than 400 people with disabilities. With nearly 1000 employees, we are the largest employer in the City of Kingston and number three in the mid-Hudson Valley and Catskill Mountain region.

One vision of Pilot Industries was to develop a product that would allow people with developmental disabilities receiving our services to participate in Preferred Source employment opportunities. This means that organizations under state contract would look to us first for products and services. Looking to New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) for guidance, this vision came to fruition in the drug testing supply business. Pilot was able to develop a distributor relationship with a national manufacturer and establish an FDA cleared production operation. To better serve your needs, Pilot Industries/Clean Test® continues to build these relationships by adding nationally recognized brands to its growing product line.

Pilot Industries worked dilligently with NYSID and in April 2004 was granted Preferred Source status to supply our drug testing kits to the NYS Unified Court System Drug Treatment Courts. In December of that same year this designation went statewide. Since that time we have grown continuously, servicing numerous agencies, hospitals and private treatment centers. With an offering of over 200 different products, each order is "custom" assembled based on the needs of the customer. Each employee has been trained in the various assembly steps necessary to prepare the kits for shipment.

Pilot Industries is constantly upgrading its NYSID Preferred Source product offerings, applying business principles that allow us to aspire to the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

  • A diverse and high quality product line
    • We have recently affiliated with Instant Technologies to become their distributor for iCup and iScreen products throughout the Northeast
  • A customer "HOT LINE" for all your product and cross reactivity questions
  • Accurate and timely deliveries
Our hard work has resulted in repeated success.
  • Pilot Industries received national recognition in May 2005 as the first recipient of the "Rags to Riches" award from the National Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA)
  • In September 2005 Pilot Industries was named NYSID's Member Agency of the Year based on the operation of the Clean Test® Drug Screening product program
Best of all, the Pilot workforce has learned new skills for operating a manufacturing facility under strict government guidelines. No longer idle or unchallenged, it is well known that Pilot production workers take pride in what they do.
